CERGE-EI is a founding partner of the CERGE-EI Foundation, which was established to foster support not only for the Institute itself but also for modern economics education in other transitioning and emerging economies. The Foundation provides research grants, teaching fellowships and scholarship support, among a number of additional projects that promote modern economic research, education and literacy particularly within the Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia regions. In addition to several joint board members, the Institute and the Foundation work closely on a number of projects including the Undergraduate Program in Central European Studies (UPCES), the Distance Learning Program (DLP), Teaching Fellowship Program, among others. The Foundation’s engagement is key as it serves as the lead administrator of the DLP, which is the key building block and inspiration for this project.
